Negri left it late until the dying minutes to seal the fourth win in four matches against resilient Johore FA in Paroi last night. The goal came from an own goal by Rizal Roslan as he tried to clear a dangerous cross from Negri international striker, Zaquan Adha.

In-form international striker, Zaquan Razak bagged a hat-trick in the second half as rampant Negri demolished Sarawak 8-0 in Piala Malaysia group B match last night making it his 5 goals in four days.

Negri will kick-off their quest to win the elusive Malaysia Cup in Larkin stadium against Johore FA this Saturday.

The last time we won the prestigious cup is when it was known as the Malaya Cup in 1948. In recent years, we have come close twice and came on as a runner-up in 2000 and 2006.

Paroi Batu Ompek would like to wish the players, management and fans all the very best of luck in this year’s campaign.
