Piala Malaysia | Negri 8 Sarawak 0
In-form international striker, Zaquan Razak bagged a hat-trick in the second half as rampant Negri demolished Sarawak 8-0 in Piala Malaysia group B match last night making it his 5 goals in four days.
He also helped to set S. Kunalan up during the first half to put Negri 1-0 up before the break.
The goals were long due for Zaquan when he had only the bar and the post to beat while also tested Sarawak keeper’s fast reflexes twice to deny Negri a big scoreline in the first half.
Earlier, Negri coach made a surprise call on Halim Zainal into midfield allowing Idris Karim and Rezal Yahya to run amok in the centre of the park.
Halim Zainal came in to replace the injured Hairuddin Omar who fail to recover from shortness of breath following a bad challenge in Johore Bahru last Saturday.
The other goals were scored by Idris Karim (2), Shukor Adan, S. Kunalan and Halim Zainal to complete Negri flying start to the campaign.
Sarawak was given a chance to take home a consolation goal after the referee gave them a soft penalty but Hairol Mokhtar hits the bar instead of putting it on the back of the net.
Eight stars Negri will visit Trengganu this Saturday to confirm their place in the quater final.
